Build & Release Responsibilities:
Responsible for hp.com application software builds / releases, to include the design and development of related scripts and installation procedures
Create and maintain the build and release documentation, and actively coordinates with L3 support teams for ITG and production installs
Maintain VSS source control repository and processes, including branches and merging; own the overall source control process to be used by the development team
Work closely with the development and quality assurance teams accordingly to facilitate verification of code builds/releases
Provide back-up support to another Release Engineer on the team
Responsible for bulk image/attachment loads and other types of key functions, as appropriate
Hardware/Environment responsibilities:
Document and thoroughly understand the Physical Architectures of production, ITG, testing, integration, and build environments
Actively participate with Infrastructure planning & execution of server reduction plans, to include preparing estimates for sharing/stacking of environments
Maintain our internal hardware/environments for builds, integration, and testing environments; assists L3 support teams with knowledge and recommendations for ITG and Production environment maintenance
Actively participate in the Performance and Availability analysis, in conjunction with development, L3 Support, and performance teams. Make recommendations for system tuning as appropriate
Minimum Qualifications:
3+ years of hands-on build/release, build automation/configuration management & Infrastructure planning/maintenance experience
4+ years of overall software development experience
Expert level experience with the following Technologies:
C#/.Net & ASP .Net
Web Services
Win2003 Operating System
Sql 2000 > moving to Sql 2005 db
Experience preferred with J2EE, Web Logic, and UNIX Technologies
Strong understanding of the software development / infrastructure implementation lifecycles, and audits that take place at each step
Willingness to aid development and L3 support teams in resolving Production issues
Demonstrate a proactive, customer-oriented approach when resolving software issues, troubleshooting problems and resolving matters surrounding build processes and tools
Ability to work independently as well as with others, especially with teams remotely dispersed
Ability to work off hours (early mornings, late evenings) and possible weekend work during Moves to Production and/or responding to Production issues.
