.NET / VB Developer
Definition of Roles and corresponding Responsibilities:
- The selected candidate will be responsible for the ongoing development of the Client’s Publishing Tool and will be part of a small team responsible for quick response development activities. Most development activities will need to be completed within one week and the developer will be expected to manage multiple development tasks simultaneously. The ideal candidate will be able to rapidly design, prototype, and deploy code modules and should be able to quickly resolve operational issues in the production environment. This position may need to transition to longer term development projects on an occasional basis. This will be managed on a rotational basis as needed.
Desired skills
- Minimum Four to Five years of industry experience that includes enterprise application development roles.
- Strong Object-oriented analysis and design skills and experience.
- Experience developing multi-tiered client server applications in VB6.0 / COM+
- Experience developing applications under the Windows .NET Framework using Visual Studio .NET, .NET Framework 1.1, C#, ASP.net, VB.NET and ADO.NET
- Experience with XML, XPATH, XSD, Web Services, SOAP, and HTML.
- Experience developing applications for Microsoft Windows NT and 2000, XP.
- Experience developing applications using SQL Server 2000.
- C++ and Visual C++ Experience.
- Must have a solid background in software engineering processes and methodologies.
- Must have excellent verbal and written skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
Desired experience
- Experience with UML Use Case Diagrams, software development tools, and with source code control (e.g. Visual Source Safe) tools a plus.
Education: BS in CS, EE, or related field.
