Job Description for Senior Tester

This individual will develop and execute automated tests for the HP Passport application using the existing SoapTest (by ParaSoft) and QuickTestPro (by Mercury Interactive) testing tools.  In addition this individual might be required to write scripts necessary to verify unusual situations where the above testing tools cannot meet the test need. 

This individual will be creating/reviewing test cases, test data, test scripts; executing test scripts; evaluating test results and processing defect reports.  

This individual will also need to digest HP Passport functional specifications that provide the requirements of the solution.  With this knowledge this individual will review test cases and execution reports from the test engineers as well as investigate issues reported by development team or integrated application clients.  

This individual may also perform as a Test Lead.  In this role they may need to determine all the testing required for a project and work with the Release Manager and QA Lead to ensure all the testing is planned for and carried out to meet program requirements.

Musts

·          Solid analytical skills and strong written language skills.   They will be digesting functional specifications and design documents to create high quality test cases/test data

·          Experience in the complete life cycle of project development: Scoping, Analysis, Design, Development, Testing and Deployment

·          Experience in test development, automation and test execution with exhaustive understanding of testing terminologies and methodologies

·          Experience in Client/Server and Internet software development environment.

·          Familiarity with XML, SOAP, and SOAP envelope fundamentals

·          Experience in domain of Web Services (SOAP, WSDL, UDDI, XML, WSDP)

·          Languages: Java, C, SQL, PL/SQL

·          Scripting Language:  HTML, PERL, TOAD  or other like scripting language

Wants

·          Experience using SOAPTest, QuickTestPro and TestTrack (not a must, as we have training packages)

·          Experience in Objected Oriented Analysis and Design with Java and UML

·          Database: Experience using Oracle
