 HPP Project Manager

An HPP Project Manager leads cross-functional, cross-organizational teams to deliver, on-time and on-budget, the release of HPP business solutions.

 

This resource is responsible for:  1) the scoping of a release, using the prioritized Business Requirements as input, 2) the definition of release deliverables and release schedule, 3) the on-going release tracking and issue and risk management and 4) release communications.  For Infrastructure projects, the Project Manager needs to work with the HPP team to provide the vision and definition of the integrated roadmap to deliver multiple releases/phases to migrate to new hardware environments and/or hardware platforms.

 

The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that the Project Teams (business and systems analysts, development, ITQA, Integration and Support) adhere to the Project Lifecycle methodology and is responsible for conducting phase sign-offs with the HPP Program Team.    The Project Manager ensures that the deliverables for a release are defined, delivered and signed-off by the appropriate people.   The PM also ensures that management receives timely updates on release status.

 

This roles needs to be able to multi-task and manage a range of projects that can include:  1) small and large projects, 2) fast-track releases as well as those following a more traditional lifecycle, 3) projects with geographically dispersed resources – both within the US and offshore.

Primary Responsibilities:

·         Manage Release Scoping and Delivery of multiple projects simultaneously.

·         Adhere to Project Management Lifecycle and contribute to improvements in the HPP release methodology

·         Lead ongoing release team meetings
Lead the release team meetings to ensure deliverables are on track, issues identified and resolved, follow-on actions are defined and clearly communicated.  Detail oriented.

·         Issues/Risk Management

·         Communication with HPP Business/Program Team

·         Communications with HPP Operations and Support Organization including eQuote and RFC process.

·         Manage communications, processes and expectations with other HP organizations – e.g. GDIS

  

Required Skills:

·         Demonstrated experience with leading and motivating teams and driving the delivery of solutions.

·         Ability work in an aggressive, dynamic, rapidly changing environment

·         Ability to deal with ambiguity and drive agreement on solution phases/roadmap.

·         Detail oriented.

·         Experience working with other functional areas – e.g., GDIS/hardware organizations.

·         Ability to multi-task across a range of projects and teams

·         Self-directed

·         Effective written and verbal communications.

·         Knowledge and experience with project management methodology and tools for project management.
