Requirements
• AutoCAD experience required.
• 1-7 years of drawing/design experience in one of the following types of design offices:
Architecture, StructuralØ Engineering, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Space Planning, & Interior Design.
Degrees and/or certification:
• BA/BS in Architecture, Interior Design or other related fields; AA/AS Drafting Degree; Trade School certificate
• Organize, layout and coordinate design documents.
• Maintain project information flow.
• Assure that design documents accurately reflect the contract scope and design intent.
• Provide drawings of own designs and produce sketches to incorporate in the drawings.
• Assist with construction administration.
• Assist with project billings and keep project accounting current.
• Use schedule and budget to assist with requesting appropriate staffing needs.
• Delegate tasks and responsibilities to project team members.
• Coordinate project team effort through communication.
• Gather data for scope of work and fee support, sub-consultant fees and scope of work and presentation of proposals to clients.
• Continuing education to improve technical knowledge and skills through outside and in-house programs, seminars, training sessions, site visits, trade periodicals and other resources.
• Create and maintain project folders.
• Continue education to improve technical knowledge and skills through outside and in-house programs, seminars, training sessions, site visits, trade periodicals and other resources.
• Update meeting minutes, progress reports and spreadsheets as required.
Skills
• Excellent communication, both verbal and written.
• Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel.
• AutoCAD 2000 - 2006 proficiency required.
• Ability to use office equipment including Plotter, Printers and Scanners.
• Ability to use architectural and engineering design tools, including Graphic Standards, Time-Saver Standards, Sweets catalogs and manufacturer’s product data and catalogs.
